The Mind

Project focuses on being stigma-free, affordable, and multilingual, offering services in multiple Indian languages. It brings world-class mental health support directly to people’s phones, making care accessible at their own pace and on their own terms, whether they live in a major city or a small town.

Role Description This is a part-time Psychiatrist role based in Mysore with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work from home alongside in-person responsibilities. The Psychiatrist will provide evidence-based psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to clients referred through The Mind Project platform, including medication management and ongoing follow-up. Daily tasks include conducting virtual and in-person consultations, collaborating with psychologists, therapists, and Care Navigators, and contributing to integrated care plans tailored to each client’s needs.

The role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation on digital systems,



ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards, and participating in case discussions or multidisciplinary meetings as needed. The Psychiatrist will also support mental health promotion by offering psychoeducation, risk assessment, and crisis intervention when appropriate.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to deliver comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and evidence-based treatment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health, including managing mood, anxiety, psychotic, and stress-related disorders.
- Experience or interest in Adolescent Psychiatry and youth-focused mental health care, including age-appropriate communication and family involvement where suitable.
- Valid medical degree (MBBS) and postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry (MD/DNB or equivalent), with current registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Comfort with technology, telepsychiatry platforms, and digital documentation; ability to work effectively in a hybrid model (onsite in Mysore and remote).
- Solid interpersonal, communication, and trauma-informed care skills, with a commitment to non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, and inclusive practice.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and willingness to collaborate closely with psychologists, therapists, and care coordinators.
- Proficiency in English and at least one Indian language commonly spoken in Karnataka; prior experience in community or digital mental health settings is an advantage.
