Job Summary The Psychiatrist will be responsible for the psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication management and clinical monitoring of clients undergoing rehabilitation for alcohol and drug addiction, psychiatric disorders and associated behavioural or emotional concernsThe psychiatrist will work in coordination with psychologists, rehabilitation counsellors, nursing staff and other clinical team members to provide protected, ethical and individualized treatment. ---

Key Responsibilities

1. Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnosis - Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of clients. - Evaluate mental health, behavioural and emotional concerns. - Assess substance-use-related psychiatric conditions and co-occurring disorders. - Establish or review psychiatric diagnoses as clinically appropriate. - Identify psychiatric emergencies and clinical risk factors.
2. Treatment & Medication Management - Develop individualized psychiatric treatment plans. - Prescribe and review medications as clinically indicated and within applicable regulations. - Monitor therapeutic response, side effects and medication adherence. - Regularly review and modify treatment plans when required. - Coordinate medical management with the treating clinical team.
3. De-Addiction & Substance-Use Treatment - Assess clients with alcohol and drug dependence/use disorders. - Participate in withdrawal-management planning and clinical monitoring. - Identify cravings, triggers, relapse risks and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. - Support evidence-based relapse-prevention and recovery planning. - Provide appropriate psychoeducation regarding addiction and treatment.
4. Clinical Monitoring - Conduct scheduled psychiatric follow-ups. - Monitor changes in mood, behaviour, sleep, cognition and overall mental status. - Review progress and treatment response.



- Identify deterioration or emerging psychiatric symptoms promptly. - Provide appropriate clinical instructions to the nursing and rehabilitation team.
5. Crisis & Risk Management - Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies within the centre's scope of care. - Assess risks related to self-harm, aggression, severe withdrawal, acute behavioural disturbance or other psychiatric emergencies. - Provide appropriate emergency clinical instructions and escalation. - Recommend referral or hospitalization when the client's condition requires a higher level of care.
6. Multidisciplinary Team Coordination - Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions. - Coordinate with psychologists, rehabilitation counsellors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. - Provide clinical guidance regarding psychiatric aspects of rehabilitation. - Contribute to individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
7. Family Consultation & Psychoeducation - Provide appropriate psychiatric information and psychoeducation to families. - Explain treatment plans, medication-related matters and recovery considerations. - Address family concerns within professional and confidentiality requirements. - Support family involvement in rehabilitation and relapse-prevention planning.
8. Clinical Documentation Maintain accurate and confidential records, including: - Psychiatric assessment - Mental Status Examination - Diagnosis and clinical formulation - Medication prescriptions and reviews - Progress notes - Risk assessments - Treatment plans - Follow-up records - Referral / hospitalization recommendations - Discharge and aftercare recommendations
9. Rehabilitation & Aftercare - Contribute to discharge planning and continuity of psychiatric care.



- Recommend appropriate follow-up and aftercare. - Support relapse-prevention planning. - Coordinate with the rehabilitation team regarding ongoing clinical needs.

Required Qualifications
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Psychiatry or an applicable recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry.
- Valid registration with the appropriate medical regulatory authority as applicable. - Experience in psychiatry, de-addiction, rehabilitation or mental-health services will be preferred.
- Additional training or experience in addiction psychiatry will be an advantage.

Key Objective To provide safe, evidence-based psychiatric care and clinical supervision that supports stabilization, addiction recovery, mental-health improvement, relapse prevention and long-term rehabilitation of clients. Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
