- Dispensing medications: Preparing, choosing, and dispensing medications for patients

- Advising patients: Providing information about medications and their use, and counseling patients on the effects of drugs

- Advising healthcare professionals: Advising physicians and other healthcare workers on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications

- Managing medication inventory: Managing medication inventory and usage in hospitals

- Ensuring medication safety: Ensuring the safety and efficacy of medications

- Monitoring drug charts: Ensuring that the correct medication is being provided to each patient

- Participating in ward rounds: Taking patient drug histories and ensuring protected and effective use of medications

- Developing relationships: Developing and building relationships within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

- Writing guidelines:



Writing guidelines for drug use within the hospital and implementing hospital regulations

- Keeping up with research: Keeping up to date with, and contributing to, research and development

- Supervising staff: Supervising the work of less experienced and less qualified staff
