Key Job Responsibilities

 Payroll Processing o Accurately process weekly/ bi-weekly/semi-monthly for employees in the US and

Canada.

o Collect and validate timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

o Ensure timely payroll submissions in accordance with country-specific payroll schedules.

 Compliance and Audits o Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and provincial labor laws, tax regulations, and internal controls.

o Maintain and manage statutory filings and tax remittances with support from third-party payroll vendors.

o Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.

 Vendor and System Management o Coordinate with external payroll providers (e.g., UKG, ADP, Ceridian, Paycom) to ensure accurate execution.

o Maintain and update employee records in payroll systems and ensure data integrity between HRIS and payroll systems.

 Reporting and Reconciliation o Prepare and deliver payroll reports, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

o Support Finance teams in month-end closing activities.

 Employee Support o Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, tax forms (W-2, T4,

etc.), and other payroll matters.

Collaborate with HR and Finance on current hires, terminations,



benefit deductions,

and other payroll-impacting changes.

Background and Skills

Required Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field.

 3–5 years of hands-on payroll experience for US and/or Canadian employees.

 Strong knowledge of US and Canadian payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

 Experience working with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Workday, UKG, Paycom).

 Excellent MS Excel skills for data validation and reporting.

 Ability to work independently and remotely, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

 Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

 Willingness to work partially during US business hours to align with key stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience working with multi-country payroll operations.

 Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).

 Certification such as FPC, CPP, or PCP (Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is a plus.

 Experience working in shared service or global business services environments.
