Position: OPEX Executive (FTR)

Department: Operational Excellence / FTR

Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month

Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or a related field.

Certifications: Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt), Kaizen/Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, or related Operational Excellence certifications preferred.

Experience required: Minimum 1 Year

Location: Por GIDC, Vadodara, Gujarat.

Job Purpose To support operational excellence initiatives by identifying process gaps, improving productivity, reducing waste, monitoring performance, and implementing continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare action plans for productivity, quality, cost, and efficiency improvement.
- To provide support in implementing and sustaining the QMS and EHS system.
- Define improvement targets and track timelines for implementation.
- Support FTR (First Time Right) improvement initiatives.
- Conduct process studies and identify bottlenecks, process losses, and non-value-added activities.
- Implement Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments for improvement projects.
- Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Support root-cause analysis for recurring process issues.
- Monitor key operational parameters such as productivity, rejection, rework, downtime, and process efficiency.
- Analyse production data and prepare MIS/reports for management review.
- Track the effectiveness of implemented improvement actions.
- Conduct regular process audits and identify deviations.




- Identify and implement measures to reduce rejection, rework, cycle time, and operational losses.
- Support FTR improvement by reducing defects and ensuring problems are addressed at the source.
- Participate in CAPA and problem-solving activities.
- Suggest process standardisation and improvement measures.
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve overall operational efficiency.

Technical Skills Required

- Knowledge of OPEX / Operational Excellence concepts
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen
- Understanding of 5S, FTR, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA and PDCA
- Basic knowledge of process mapping and waste identification
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting
- Ability to analyse production and process data

Soft Skills Required

- Proactive, presentation skills, effective communication, time management skills.
- Root cause analysis, systematic problem solving (SPS) skill, continue improvement.

Good to have

- Exposure to forging/manufacturing industry will be an advantage.
