Node.js Backend Developer

We're Hiring: Backend Developer (Node.js) | Ernakulam | Contract | Immediate Requirement

Zlan Creations is looking for an experienced Node.js Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side systems for a mobile-first product.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop RESTful/GraphQL APIs for mobile and web clients
- Design and maintain database schemas; write optimized queries
- Implement caching strategies and secure authentication/authorization
- Integrate third-party services — payment gateways, verification, notifications
- Build and maintain admin-panel/backend tools
- Write unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews
- Collaborate closely with mobile/frontend developers on API contracts
- Support deployment, monitoring, and scaling on cloud infrastructure

Required Skills

- 3–5 years of experience with Node.js (Express or NestJS)
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, query optimization
- Experience with Redis or similar caching/session tools




- Familiarity with JWT/OAuth-based authentication and secure API design
- Working knowledge of AWS or GCP (EC2/ECS, S3, RDS)
- Understanding of scalable system design — load balancing, horizontal scaling, queueing
- Git-based version control and CI/CD familiarity

Good to Have

- Payment gateway integration and subscription/recurring billing experience
- In-app purchase server-side validation (Apple/Google)
- Experience with message queues (BullMQ, RabbitMQ)
- Awareness of data protection and compliance best practices

This is a contract position based in Ernakulam, with an immediate start.
