Job Summary A Textile Merchandiser is responsible for coordinating between buyers, production teams, suppliers, and quality departments to ensure textile or garment orders are executed smoothly. The role includes product development, order management, sourcing materials, monitoring production, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Buyer Communication

Communicate with buyers regarding product specifications, pricing, samples, and order status.Understand buyer requirements such as fabric, trims, quality standards, and packaging.

1. Product Development

Coordinate development of samples.Work with design and sampling teams to develop products as per buyer specifications.
1. Order Management

Receive purchase orders from buyers. Prepare order sheets and production plans.

Monitor order progress from development to shipment.

1. Sourcing & Procurement

Source fabrics, trims, and accessories from suppliers. Negotiate prices and delivery timelines with vendors.
1. Production Follow-Up





Coordinate with production departments (cutting, stitching, finishing). Ensure production runs according to schedule.
1. Quality Control Coordination

Work with quality teams to ensure product quality standards are met. Address quality issues during production.
1. Costing & Pricing

Prepare garment costing based on materials, labor, and overheads. Provide quotations to buyers.
1. Shipment Coordination

Ensure packing and shipment are completed on time. Coordinate with logistics and documentation teams.

Required Skills

Knowledge of textile fabrics and garment manufacturing processes

Communication and negotiation skills

Time management and multitasking

Problem-solving ability

Knowledge of merchandising software / Excel

Understanding of international quality standards

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Technology / Textile Technology / Apparel Merchandising / Fashion Management/MBA
