Role Description The Manager - Custom Clearance (Ghatkopar & JNPT) is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing end-to-end customs clearance operations at designated locations. The role includes managing documentation, coordinating with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies, and ensuring timely clearance of import and export consignments.

The manager will supervise operational teams, monitor compliance with customs regulations, and resolve issues related to shipments, duties, and inspections. Daily activities involve communicating with clients and internal stakeholders, tracking cargo status, optimizing workflows, and maintaining accurate records and reports. This role also includes identifying process improvements,



managing vendor and agency relationships, and supporting senior management with operational insights.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills to interpret customs regulations, assess documentation accuracy, and solve operational issues.
- Operations management skills to lead customs clearance processes, coordinate activities at Ghatkopar and JNPT, and optimize workflows.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients, customs officials, internal teams, and external partners.
- Inventory management skills to track cargo movement, maintain updated records, and support efficient logistics planning.
- Customer service skills to handle client queries, manage expectations, and ensure a professional, solution-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of Indian customs laws, port procedures (especially JNPT), and documentation requirements for imports and exports.
- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or customs brokerage, preferably in managerial or supervisory roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, commerce, or a related field; professional certifications in customs or logistics are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy under time-sensitive conditions.
