Position Summary

Asirvad is seeking a qualified and experienced Legal Counsel to support the organisation's legal, litigation, recovery, compliance, and business operations. The role involves providing legal advice, managing litigation matters, reviewing contracts and legal documents, coordinating with external advocates, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in financial services, lending, recovery-related laws, and litigation management.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Risk Management

- Provide legal guidance on operational, regulatory, lending, and business matters.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business activities and strategic initiatives.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal implications of policies, transactions, and operational decisions.

Litigation Management
- Manage civil, criminal, recovery, consumer, labour, and other legal proceedings involving the organisation.
- Coordinate with external advocates and legal consultants across multiple jurisdictions.
- Review case status, monitor court proceedings, and ensure timely legal actions.
- Develop strategies for dispute resolution and risk minimisation.

Recovery & Enforcement Support
- Provide legal support in loan recovery proceedings and enforcement actions.
- Handle matters relating to SARFAESI, arbitration, execution proceedings, and debt recovery.




- Assist business and collections teams in resolving complex legal cases.

Contract & Documentation Review
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet legal documents, including:

- Vendor agreements

- Service contracts

- Leasing agreements
- Non-disclosure agreements

- Recovery and settlement agreements

- Legal notices and responses
- Ensure legal documentation is compliant with applicable laws and company policies.

Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, RBI guidelines, NBFC regulations, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the organisation.
- Support legal audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with courts, government departments, advocates, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with internal departments including Operations, Credit, Recovery, HR, Compliance, and Finance.

Legal Research & Reporting
- Conduct legal research and provide opinions on complex legal issues.
- Prepare litigation reports, legal risk assessments, and management updates.
- Maintain legal records, case databases, and statutory documentation.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised university.
- Enrolment with the Bar Council of India.




- LLM or specialised legal certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience
- 7-12 years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Experience in NBFC, Banking, Financial Services, Microfinance, or related industries preferred.
- Strong exposure to litigation management, recovery laws, contract drafting, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience handling external counsel and multi-location legal matters.
