Job Overview

We are seeking 02 experienced Grinder Men / Industrial Metal Finishers for our heavy fabrication unit. The candidates will be responsible for surface preparation, weld bead cleaning, edge beveling, spatters removing, and smooth finishing of heavy structural steel components, vessels, and fabricated assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation: Operate hand-held angle grinders (4-inch, 7-inch, and AG7/AG9 heavy grinders), pneumatic grinders, and die grinders to clean rust, scale, and spatters from steel plates and weldments.

Weld Joint Preparation: Perform edge preparation, single/double V-beveling, and root grinding on heavy plates prior to welding.

Post-Weld Finishing: Grind and blend weld seams, remove sharp edges/burrs, flush weld joints smooth, and prepare surfaces for painting or non-destructive testing (NDT/UT/MPI).

Machine & Disc Maintenance: Inspect grinding wheels, cutting wheels, and flap discs for defects before use; safely change abrasive wheels adhering to safety standards.

Quality & Inspection:



Ensure finished components meet smooth surface finish requirements without gouging, over-grinding, or damaging the base metal.

Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to shop floor safety guidelines, using personal protective equipment (PPE) including face shields, ear protection, leather gloves, and dust masks at all times.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 2+ years of practical experience as a Grinder / Finisher in a heavy structural steel workshop, boiler unit, or heavy equipment fabrication setup.

Education: 12th pass and ITI trade certificate (welding/fitter background preferred).

Technical Knowledge

Proficiency in handling heavy-duty electric and pneumatic power tools safely.

Hands-on knowledge of different grinding wheel types (depressed center wheels, cut-off wheels, wire brushes, flap discs).

Ability to identify plate thickness and material types (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Structural Beams).
