About us

OWR is a D2C streetwear brand. We run our own factory in Ludhiana — printing, embroidery, washing, dyeing and stitching all under one roof. We're putting the design team together now: you'd be one of two designers, working directly with the founder and with the person building the garments.

Why this role is different

Most apparel graphics are wallpaper. Something inoffensive on a chest, a font off a dropdown, a colour someone picked because it sold last year. We don't want any of that.

We want art that argues. Prints with a point of view, colour that somebody chose on purpose, lettering drawn by a human hand. If it doesn't say anything, it doesn't go on the garment.

And you get to actually make it. Our factory does printing, embroidery, washing and dyeing under one roof — so you'll see your work on fabric, find out what a heavy wash does to it, and change it. No vendor, no six-week wait, no "the printer said it wasn't possible."

We'd rather back something strange that fails than ship something safe that works. Come make the thing nobody let you make.

What you'll own

- Every graphic we drop: placement prints, all-overs, backs, embroidery and appliqué artwork
- Typography and lettering — drawn, not picked from a dropdown
- Seasonal colour palettes, and colour approval against lab dips and strike-offs
- Brand assets: hangtags, woven labels, care labels, packaging
- Print-ready files with correct separations, repeat units and placement specs — clean enough that the floor never has to call you




- Working with our print and embroidery teams — some of it remotely from Chandigarh, the rest on the floor in Ludhiana

What you need
- Real typography skill. Show us custom lettering you've drawn.
- Vector-native. Illustrator above all.
- Production understanding: screen vs DTF vs puff vs embroidery, how many screens a design really needs, what happens to fine detail on a heavy knit, Pantone/TCX matching
- Range — you can work in more than one aesthetic, because our seasons will move
- Taste, and the ability to explain it. We're going to ask why you chose that typeface.
- You experiment. You've made things nobody asked you to make.

Nice to have: hand illustration, embroidery digitising, motion/After Effects for ad creative, photography sense, Figma. No degree requirement. Most of the best people in this space never went to design school. Show us the work.

Hiring process

- Send your portfolio. Include at least one piece that actually got printed.
- A 20-minute call. Walk us through one piece and why you made the choices you did.
- A short trial (about a day): one placement graphic and a custom wordmark on a theme we give you. Include the palette and the screen count.

Reports to Founder, directly. No layers. You own the artwork; the product designer owns the garment; the founder signs off where they meet.

Compensation

₹35,000–45,000 per month. Performance bonus tied to how your product sells.
