Primary Purpose of Role
Develop, localize, and distribute high-impact and memorable content for Group and Business Units across diverse segments and regions. Operating at the intersection of brand, content and marketing communications strategy, editorial excellence, and cross-functional collaboration, the Global Content Specialist ensures that Allison's messaging and marketing collateral reflects the organization's commitment to engineering leadership and customer-centric communication - consistently and compellingly, across every touchpoint and geography. This role demands a sophisticated understanding of global audience dynamics, deep expertise in multi-channel content production, and the editorial discipline to translate complex technical and commercial narratives into accessible, persuasive content that resonates with customers, partners, and external stakeholders worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management
- Works closely with:
- Global Group: Global Lead, Brand & Content, Media & PR, Digital Communications, Internal Communications
- Business Unit and Regional Marketing teams, Segment Managers
- External Creative Agencies, PR agencies
- External customers including OEMs, Distributor Managed OEMs (DOEMs), distributor partners, to roll out annual online/digital communications plans.
Content and Collateral Creation & Management
- Creates, develops and updates (translated) content, copy & marketing collateral (e.g. media information documents, messaging matrix/guides, presentations, brochures, advertisements, roll-up designs, trade show visuals, Allison in Action stories, Talking Points etc.) in digital repositories
- (For copy) utilizing AI and other technologies to create efficiency; eventually (for DTP/design work) with support from external agencies.
- Comes up with new content & collateral ideas.
- Adapt core content for local cultural, linguistic, and regulatory contexts; Develop and maintain localization frameworks and editorial guidelines that empower regional teams to produce on-brand content autonomously, at scale.
Web Content Development & Publishing
- Architect, build, launch and maintain web pages (both internal & external platforms) in alignment with global content strategy, campaign briefs, product launches, and strategic communications initiatives.
- Author and edit compelling, on-brand web copy that adheres to Allison's editorial standards, tone of voice, and brand strategy.
- Manage end-to-end publishing process in Content Management System (CMS), ensuring accurate metadata, tagging, internal linking architecture.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, and regional marketing teams to deliver web experiences that are visually consistent and technically performant.
Website Analytics & Performance Optimization
- Define, track, and report on key content performance metrics — including SEO performance, website Call-to-Action, lead generation attribution to demonstrate content ROI and inform future strategy.
- Implements S(earch)EO and G(enerative)EO optimization activities eventually support by software tools or an external agency
- Apply SEO best practices and audience research insights throughout the content creation process to maximise organic visibility and relevance in priority markets.
- Conduct competitive content analysis and industry landscape reviews to identify gaps, emerging trends, and opportunities for differentiated positioning.
- Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior marketing leadership on a regular cadence.
Ongoing Content Maintenance & Brand Governance
- Execute regular content audits to identify outdated, duplicative, or underperforming pages, recommending and implementing timely updates.
- Maintain and refresh recurring content sections including News & Press, Allison in Action, Campaign Hubs, and Tradeshow event pages.
- Ensure all published content meets global brand, legal, and compliance requirements, collaborating with stakeholders across functions to obtain necessary approvals.
- Uphold content governance policies, maintaining a structured editorial calendar that supports consistent, strategic publishing cadences.
Planning & Budget Tracking – Plans, budgets and tracks all expenses related to support activities provided by 3rd parties / external vendors; reports on Budget vs Actuals vs Outlook tracking.
Key Performance Measures:
1. 95% up-to-date website pages for all key stakeholders; Monthly SEO and GEO improvements plan
2. 95% up-to-date marketing collateral, materials in Digital Asset Mngt System
3. 100% Group and Business unit marketing collateral (brochures, presentations etc.) on par with Brand Strategy Framework
4. Annual messaging guide assessment through internal & external stakeholder survey to align and optimize brand strategy & message house defined
5. Content publication velocity and adherence to editorial calendar commitments.
6. Page performance metrics: time on page, bounce rate, and conversion rates.
7. Accuracy & timeliness of content governance activities, incl. audit completion rates.
8. Stakeholder satisfaction scores across internal content delivery processes.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master degree in (Digital) Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, e-Media/multimedia or a related field.
Experience:
1. 5-7 years of progressive experience in content marketing, editorial, or digital communications roles, with demonstrable exposure to global or multi-regional content operations.
2. Proven track record of producing high-quality, results-driven content across multiple formats and channels within a complex, matrixed organisation — ideally within the technology, industrial, automotive, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in one or more additional languages is a significant advantage.
4. Demonstrated experience managing localisation and translation workflows at scale, including vendor management and quality assurance.
5. Experience with enterprise CMS systems, marketing automation platforms, and digital analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager/Sitefinity, HubSpot, Google Analytics, SEMrush, or equivalents).
6. Strong command of SEO principles, keyword strategy, and content optimisation practices for global search markets.
7. Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to translate performance insights into actionable content recommendations.
