The platform unifies merchandise financial planning, WSSI/Merch Financial Planning, budget and OTB management, range and assortment planning, allocation and replenishment, visual merchandising, ERP, OMS, WMS, supplier collaboration, finance, and AI-driven decision intelligence into a single connected source of truth.

Role Description calculated planning measures behind it. You will own quality for that product.

This is a quality assurance role that genuinely needs a planning brain. We are not looking for someone to follow a test script - we are looking for someone who knows what a merchandise plan should do, and can say with authority whether the software is doing it.

What you will do

- Own test coverage for our WSSI planning product end to end, from planning grid through to committed data.
- Test the full planning chain, not a single screen - locked budget data feeds into WSSI, and WSSI in turn feeds weekly sales packs and assortment planning. You will verify that the numbers hold together as they move between them.
- Cover allocation and store grading - store grades and clusters, how purchase orders are distributed across stores, replenishment, and size splits. These depend on the same plan data, so they need testing as part of the same chain.
- Define what “correct” looks like - document the expected behaviour of each planning measure, including formulas, dependencies, rounding and rollup rules.




- Build a trusted reference dataset that the wider engineering team can test against.

• Verify data directly , using SQL against our databases and warehouse, as well as through the interface and APIs.

- Work alongside developers to turn your expectations into automated regression checks that run continuously.
- Bring an end-to-end view of the retail inventory planning cycle - budget, range and assortment, buying, allocation, in-season trading and reporting - and hold us to it as a joined-up process rather than a set of separate features.

Your Experience - What You Will Bring

Essential:

• Hands-on experience of merchandise planning — either as a planner or allocator in a retail business, or implementing and validating planning systems for retail clients.

• Solid command of planning mathematics : stock roll-forward, open to buy, cover, sell-through, markdown, weekly-to-period aggregation, and how changes at a summary level are allocated down to individual product lines.

- Confident writing your own SQL.

• Transparent, structured documentation skills — you can turn what you know into something the whole team can use.

- Experience with planning platforms
- API testing experience, or test automation exposure.
- Background in a retail technology team or a software vendor serving retailers.

You Might Be Coming From An implementation, functional or UAT consulting role on a retail planning platform, or a merchandise planning or allocation role in a retail business where you want to move into product and technology. Both routes work well here - what matters is that you know the numbers.
