This is an independent consulting role with Our client, a leading real estate private equity firm, is looking for an Excel Modelling Analyst to support the development of structured data models, standardized templates, automated workflows, and reporting dashboards using Excel and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

1. Excel Modelling & Templatization

- Build and maintain structured Excel models for reporting and analysis.
- Convert manual and ad-hoc files into standardized, reusable templates.
- Apply consistent formulas, formatting, and layout structures.
- Ensure models are accurate, scalable, and error-free.

2. Data Structuring & Preparation

- Clean, organize, and standardize raw data into structured formats.
- Create lookup/mapping tables and normalized data structures to support automation.
- Prepare data inputs and outputs for dashboards, reports, and recurring processes.
- Ensure data is organized with consistent headers, formats, and data types.

3. Automation – VBA & Power Query

- Develop and maintain VBA macros to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual effort.
- Troubleshoot, update, and optimize existing macro-enabled Excel files.
- Use Power Query to import, clean, merge, and transform data.
- Build refreshable data processes for periodic and month-end reporting.

4. Dashboarding & Reporting

- Support the development of dashboards in Excel and Power BI.




- Build charts, pivot tables, slicers, KPI summaries, and other visualizations.
- Ensure dashboards have clear layouts, consistent formatting, and effective data presentation.
- Convert structured data into business-ready reports and insights.

5. Power BI Support

- Prepare datasets, relationships, and basic transformations using Power Query.
- Support the development of Power BI visuals under guidance.
- Develop familiarity with basic DAX formulas for calculated fields and measures.
- Support data refresh cycles and basic troubleshooting.

6. Collaboration & Coordination

- Work with internal teams to understand data and reporting requirements.
- Support end-users with Excel templates, macros, and dashboards.
- Document processes, workflows, and automation logic clearly.
- Proactively communicate data issues and potential process improvements.

Skills Required

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and formatting.
- Working knowledge of VBA, including writing/editing macros, debugging, and task automation.
- Familiarity with Power Query
- Understanding of clean and structured data formats, including Excel tables and normalized layouts.
- Good understanding of report formatting and data visualization.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Eagerness to learn and work across Excel, automation, and BI tools.
