The Role

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly between Agento's product/engineering team and customers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technology and solving real business problems .

You will take Agento into customer environments, understand how organisations actually work, connect their systems, configure agents and workflows, and turn business requirements into working AI solutions.

You will be one of the key people responsible for turning "this is what the customer needs" into "this is working in production."

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Process Discovery

- Work directly with customers to understand their business processes.
- Map existing workflows, systems, data and approval processes.
- Identify suitable opportunities for AI-agent automation.
- Translate business problems into technical requirements.
- Document current-state and future-state processes.

Deployment & Integration

- Configure and deploy Agento within customer environments.
- Integrate Agento with enterprise applications and APIs.
- Work with connectors such as SharePoint, Procore, Autodesk Build, ERP systems and other enterprise platforms.
- Configure MCP servers and operators where required.
- Support integrations with systems that may not have modern APIs.
- Troubleshoot authentication, permissions, data and integration issues.





Agent & Workflow Development

- Configure and develop AI Skills for customer use cases.
- Build agent workflows and automation.
- Configure tools, endpoints, operators and approval steps.
- Test agent behaviour against real business scenarios.
- Develop validation and evaluation criteria.
- Identify gaps in the Agento platform and feed requirements back to engineering.

Customer Delivery

- Lead technical implementation activities.
- Support proof-of-concepts and pilots.
- Train customer teams on Agento.
- Monitor deployments and resolve technical issues.
- Help move successful pilots into production.
- Capture reusable implementation patterns for future customers.

What We're Looking For

Essential

- Solid software engineering or technical background.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations and enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work directly with customers.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
- Willingness to learn new technologies quickly.

Desirable

- Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or C#.
- REST APIs and OAuth.
- FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- SQL / PostgreSQL.
- Azure.
- Microsoft 365 / SharePoint.
- Enterprise SaaS integrations.
- MCP.
- RAG / AI agents.
- Workflow automation.
- Experience with construction, engineering, energy, finance or other process-intensive industries.
