Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Expediting Engineer – Mechanical with 7–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, fabrication, vendor expediting, project execution, or EPC projects.

The candidate will be responsible for vendor expediting, manufacturing progress tracking, schedule monitoring, delay identification, recovery planning, and vendor coordination to ensure timely completion of orders as per PO Contractual Delivery Dates (CDD).

The role involves frequent travel to vendor/manufacturing locations and requires strong technical understanding and vendor management skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct vendor visits to a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 vendors within an assigned cluster of approximately 150 km per week.
- Monitor and expedite manufacturing and fabrication activities at vendor locations.
- Track vendor progress against approved manufacturing schedules and PO CDD.
- Prepare Daily and Weekly Vendor Visit Reports covering progress, delays, risks and action points.
- Read and review Technical Data Sheets, GADs (General Arrangement Drawings) and ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
- Prepare and monitor Manufacturing Plans, Recovery Plans and Catch-up Plans.
- Identify potential delays and schedule risks at an early stage.
- Identify manufacturing bottlenecks and coordinate with vendors for corrective actions.
- Track material availability, fabrication, inspection, testing, documentation and dispatch readiness.




- Ensure timely completion of vendor manufacturing activities in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Project teams for vendor-related issues.
- Attend weekly client review meetings and provide updates on manufacturing progress, delays, risks and recovery actions.
- Follow up with vendors for timely closure of pending action points.
- Escalate critical delays and risks to management/project teams.
- Maintain accurate vendor progress tracking and expediting reports.

Educational Qualification B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Candidate Profile

- 7–8 years of relevant experience in Vendor Expediting / Manufacturing / Fabrication / Heavy Engineering / EPC.
- Strong experience in vendor follow-up and manufacturing progress monitoring.
- Exposure to structural steel, pressure parts, heat exchangers, piping, skids or heavy fabricated equipment will be preferred.
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes and inspection requirements.
- Ability to independently manage multiple vendors.
- Strong follow-up, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel to vendor locations.
