1. Role Purpose The English Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate English lessons for students from Grade 1 to Grade 5. The role focuses on developing strong foundations in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, comprehension, and communication skills.

The teacher is expected to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to develop confidence, curiosity, creativity, and a love for language and reading.

2. Key Roles & Responsibilities

A. Curriculum Planning & Lesson Delivery

- Plan and deliver English lessons aligned with the school's prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare structured lesson plans, activities, worksheets, teaching aids, and learning resources.
- Ensure timely completion of the planned curriculum.
- Use age-appropriate and engaging teaching methodologies.
- Differentiate instruction according to students' learning levels and requirements.
- Incorporate stories, poems, discussions, activities, games, and practical learning experiences into lessons.
- Ensure effective utilisation of classroom learning time.

B. Language & Literacy Development

- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Build strong foundations in grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, spelling, and punctuation.
- Develop reading fluency, comprehension, and interpretation skills.
- Encourage regular reading and develop a positive reading habit among students.
- Help students express their thoughts and ideas clearly and confidently.




- Develop students' creative writing and communication skills.
- Identify and address gaps in foundational language skills.

C. Student Assessment & Progress

- Conduct regular classwork, worksheets, assessments, quizzes, and other evaluations.
- Assess students' academic progress and identify learning gaps.
- Maintain accurate assessment and student progress records.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Plan remedial support for students requiring additional academic assistance.
- Provide enrichment activities for students demonstrating advanced learning.

D. Classroom Management

- Establish a positive, inclusive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
- Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and routines.
- Encourage active participation from all students.
- Promote responsible behaviour, collaboration, and respect among students.
- Ensure maximum learning time is utilised effectively.
- Encourage students to develop independent learning habits.

E. Student Development

- Support students' overall academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
- Encourage confidence in speaking and presenting ideas.
- Conduct activities such as storytelling, role plays, debates, presentations, reading activities, and creative writing.
- Encourage participation in English-related competitions and school activities.
- Identify individual strengths and areas requiring further development.

F. Parent Communication

- Maintain timely and professional communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Participate actively in PTMs and parent communication events.
- Provide evidence-based feedback regarding students' academic development.
- Address parent concerns appropriately and ensure timely follow-up.
- Share relevant updates regarding students' learning and classroom performance.

G. Academic Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with the English Department, grade-level teachers, coordinators, and academic leadership.
- Participate in curriculum planning and academic review meetings.




- Share teaching resources and effective classroom practices with colleagues.
- Coordinate with other subject teachers for cross-curricular activities where applicable.
- Participate in school academic initiatives and programmes.

H. Co-Curricular & School Responsibilities

- Participate in assemblies, celebrations, competitions, exhibitions, literary activities, and other school events.
- Organise or support English-related activities such as reading programmes, storytelling, creative writing, public speaking, and language activities.
- Contribute to classroom displays and academic displays.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Academic Head / School Leadership.

I. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain lesson plans, student work, assessment records, attendance, and other academic documentation.
- Ensure timely and accurate updates on the school's ERP or designated systems.
- Maintain student records and required academic documentation.
- Follow school policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, and professional conduct standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and school information.

3. Key Performance Areas

- Effective implementation of the English curriculum for Grade 1–5.
- Quality and consistency of lesson planning and delivery.
- Development of students' reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
- Student academic progress and learning outcomes.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement.
- Regular assessment and documentation of student progress.
- Parent communication and participation in PTMs.
- Student participation in English-related activities and competitions.
- Professional conduct, punctuality, attendance, and compliance with school processes.

4. Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in English / English Literature or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Prior experience teaching English to Grade 1–5 students in a school environment.
- Solid understanding of primary-level English language and literacy development.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to use age-appropriate and activity-based teaching methodologies.
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and school ERP systems will be preferred.

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
