Role & responsibilities

- Extract and remove EDM electrodes from machines, fixtures, and tool components safely and accurately.

- Handle electrodes carefully to prevent damage to critical profiles and reference surfaces.

- Identify and maintain proper electrode numbers, job numbers, and cavity/core references.

- Inspect extracted electrodes for wear, damage, deformation, and dimensional accuracy.

- Perform basic dimensional inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and other measuring instruments.

- Maintain electrode-related records, including machining status, wear, corrections, and rework requirements.

- Coordinate with EDM Operators, Tool Designers, CNC Operators, and Tool Room Engineers for electrode corrections or replacement.

- Ensure correct electrode positioning, orientation, and identification before and after EDM operations.

- Support electrode storage, preservation, and traceability.

- Follow established 5S,



safety, quality, and tool-room procedures.

- Report any electrode damage, mismatch, excessive wear, or dimensional deviation to the concerned supervisor.

- Support continuous improvement activities related to electrode handling and EDM processes.

Preferred candidate profile

- Basic knowledge of Tool Room and Die Casting Tool manufacturing.

- Understanding of EDM / Die-Sinking EDM processes.

- Knowledge of electrode handling, setting, extraction, and identification.

- Ability to read 2D engineering drawings.

- Basic knowledge of dimensional inspection and measuring instruments.

- Valuable understanding of tool-room practices and safety procedures.

- Knowledge of electrode materials such as Copper and Graphite is an advantage.
