Job Title: Department Manager - Retail (Apparel - Men's, Women's, Kids/ Textiles / Saree/ Footwear / Home Needs)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an energetic and goal-oriented Department Manager to oversee daily floor operations, drive target achievements, and lead a sales team within assigned sections across our retail stores. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in high-footfall retail setups, possess solid floor leadership skills, and ensure exceptional customer service.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- Sales & Floor Management:
- Achieve monthly and daily sales revenue targets for the assigned department.
- Track floor metrics such as footfall conversion, average bill value (ABV), and sales per square foot.
- Ensure maximum customer engagement and floor presence during peak operational hours.
- Inventory & Stock Management:
- Oversee stock inwarding, daily replenishment, and stock audit processes for the section.
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and non-moving items to provide feedback to central sourcing/buying teams.
- Minimize shrinkage, stock age, damage, and inventory discrepancies.
- Visual Merchandising & Store Standards:
- Maintain clean, attractive,



and organized shelf displays adhering to company VM standards.
- Ensure clear price tagging, promotional offer banners, and proper category grouping.
- Team Leadership & Customer Service:
- Supervise, schedule, and train floor sales associates and counter staff on product knowledge and upselling techniques.
- Handle escalated customer queries, returns, and complaints with high professionalism.
- Ensure staff maintain professional discipline, grooming standards, and high customer courtesy.

Preferred candidate profile:

- Education: Graduate in any discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years in retail store operations as a Department Manager, Floor In-Charge, or Team Lead.
- Industry Background: Candidates with relevant experience in large-format retail apparel, sarees/textiles, footwear, or hypermarkets are strongly preferred.

Key Skills:

- Practical understanding of inventory movement (FIFO, stock replenishment).
- Proficient communication in Tamil (essential for local customer interaction) and basic English.
