Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur, invites applications from accomplished academicians and research leaders for the position of Dean – Research & Development (R&D;).

The Dean – R&D; will provide strategic leadership in building a vibrant research ecosystem, promoting innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, sponsored research, intellectual property creation, consultancy, and global academic partnerships. The role is instrumental in enhancing the University's national and international research profile while supporting faculty and scholars in achieving excellence.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

1. Research Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and implement the University's research and innovation roadmap aligned with institutional strategic goals.
- Promote multidisciplinary and translational research across all faculties.

2. Sponsored Research & Grants

- Increase externally funded research projects from government agencies, industries, and international organizations.
- Facilitate proposal development, grant submission, project execution, and compliance.

3. Publications & Research Quality

- Strengthen the quality and quantity of publications in Scopus, Web of Science, ABDC, SCI, and UGC-CARE indexed journals.
- Promote high-impact research, books, book chapters, and case studies.

4. Innovation, IPR & Technology Transfer

- Drive patent filing, copyrights, trademarks, design registrations, technology transfer, and commercialization.
- Strengthen incubation, startup support, and innovation ecosystems.

5. Consultancy & Industry Collaboration

- Promote industry-sponsored research, consultancy assignments, team-oriented laboratories,



and Centres of Excellence.
- Establish strategic partnerships with national and international industries.

6. Doctoral Research & Academic Excellence

- Strengthen Ph.D. admissions, research quality, timely thesis completion, and scholar development.
- Ensure adherence to UGC Ph.D. Regulations and ethical research practices.

7. Research Governance & Compliance

- Oversee Research Ethics Committee, Institutional Review Board (IRB), plagiarism compliance, research integrity, and policy implementation.
- Ensure compliance with UGC, AICTE, DST, DBT, ICSSR, ICMR, SERB/ANRF, MSME, and other funding agency guidelines.

8. Faculty Development

- Organize workshops on research methodology, grant writing, publication ethics, AI tools for research, patent drafting, and intellectual property management.
- Mentor faculty to enhance research productivity and global collaborations.

✔ Growth in externally funded research projects and total research funding secured.

✔ Increase in publications in Scopus, Web of Science, ABDC, SCI/SCIE, and UGC-CARE indexed journals.

✔ Number of patents filed, granted, copyrights, trademarks, and technology transfers.

✔ Consultancy projects, industry-sponsored research, and revenue generated through research and innovation.





✔ Improvement in citation metrics, h-index, institutional research impact, and global visibility.

✔ Number of national and international research collaborations, MoUs, and Centres of Excellence established.

✔ Timely completion of Ph.D. programmes and enhancement of doctoral research quality.

✔ Organization of international conferences, workshops, FDPs, and research capacity-building programmes.

✔ Improvement in NIRF Research & Professional Practice score and contribution to NAAC, NBA, and international accreditation parameters.

✔ Effective implementation of research policies, ethics, plagiarism compliance, and institutional governance.

Eligibility

Education

- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Post-doctoral experience or international research exposure will be an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 15 years of teaching, research, and academic administration.
- At least 5 years in a senior academic leadership position such as Dean, Director, Associate Dean, Head of Research, or equivalent.
- Proven record of high-quality publications, funded research projects, patents, consultancy, and research administration.
