Responsibilities Daycare Teacher

1. Child Care & Safety

- Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all children throughout the daycare hours.

- Maintain active supervision of children at all times; children should never be left unattended.

- Ensure children are handled with care, patience, and warmth.

- Immediately report any injury, accident, unusual behaviour, or health concern to the Branch Head.

- Check children for any visible marks or injuries during arrival and inform the concerned authority if required.

- Follow all school safety, hygiene, and child-protection protocols.

1. Daily Routine & Schedule

- Follow the daycare's daily routine and timings consistently.

- Ensure children follow a balanced routine including meals, free play, activities, nap/rest time, and personal care.

- Prepare children for transitions between activities in a calm and organised manner.

- Ensure the classroom is ready and organised before children arrive.

1. Learning & Engagement

- Plan and conduct age-appropriate, fun, and engaging activities.

- Encourage children to participate in creative, sensory, storytelling, music, movement, and indoor/outdoor activities.

- Promote independence and self-help skills according to the child's age.

- Encourage children to communicate, share, explore, and interact positively with peers.

- Avoid keeping children engaged only through screens or passive activities.

1. Meals & Feeding

- Supervise children during meal and snack times.





- Ensure children are seated safely and encouraged to eat independently wherever appropriate.

- Follow the child's prescribed food/meal instructions shared by the parents or school.

- Monitor food allergies or special dietary instructions and immediately report any concern.

- Maintain proper hygiene before and after meals.

1. Nap & Rest Time

- Prepare a clean, calm, and comfortable environment for nap/rest time.

- Ensure children are supervised appropriately while resting.

- Maintain the required nap/rest routine without disturbing sleeping children unnecessarily.

- Ensure bedding and sleeping areas are clean and organised.

1. Hygiene & Personal Care

- Encourage regular handwashing and positive hygiene habits.

- Assist younger children with toileting, changing, handwashing, and other personal-care needs as required.

- Ensure children remain clean and comfortable throughout the day.

- Maintain cleanliness of the classroom, toys, activity materials, and children's belongings.

- Inform the Branch Head if additional clothes, diapers, toiletries, or other essentials are required.

1. Behaviour & Emotional Support

- Maintain a calm, positive, and nurturing approach with children.

- Never shout at, hit, threaten, shame, or use harsh language with a child.

- Handle tantrums and challenging behaviour patiently and appropriately.

- Help children identify and express their emotions in an age-appropr
