Role Description The Consultant Pathology role is a full-time, in office position based at Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital in Siliguri. The consultant will be responsible for performing and supervising diagnostic pathology services, including reporting on histopathology, cytology, and hematology cases. Daily responsibilities include overseeing laboratory operations, validating test results, ensuring quality control, and maintaining adherence to clinical and safety protocols.

The role involves close collaboration with clinicians to support patient diagnosis and management, participation in multidisciplinary case discussions, and contribution to continuous improvement of laboratory processes. The consultant may also be involved in mentoring junior medical staff,



supporting training initiatives, and contributing to clinical audits and accreditation activities.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong expertise in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, with the ability to interpret a wide range of diagnostic tests.

- Candidates should possess solid Medicine knowledge to correlate clinical findings with laboratory results and support evidence-based patient care.

- Candidates should possess advanced Laboratory Skills, including sample processing, quality control, and compliance with laboratory safety standards.

- Candidates should possess in-depth Histology skills, including tissue processing, slide evaluation, and reporting of histopathological findings.

- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pathology (e.g., MD/DNB in Pathology or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council and eligibility to practice as a consultant.

- Demonstrated experience in a hospital-based pathology department, preferably in a multispecialty or tertiary care setting.

- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and patient safety.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
