Key Responsibilities

- Operate hydraulic, mechanical, CNC, or press brake bending machines as per production requirements.

- Read and understand engineering drawings, bending schedules, dimensions, and work instructions.

- Set up the machine, select appropriate tooling, and adjust machine parameters according to job requirements.

- Perform accurate bending operations while maintaining specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.

- Check material specifications, thickness, and condition before starting the operation.

- Conduct first-piece inspection and make necessary machine adjustments to achieve required quality.

- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, angle gauges, and other inspection tools.

- Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities, breakdowns, or tooling issues to the supervisor/maintenance team.

- Ensure correct identification and handling of raw materials and finished components.

- Maintain production records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.

- Minimize material wastage, rework, and rejection through proper machine setting and process control.

- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance as instructed.

- Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and work area.

- Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.

- Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and maintenance teams as required.





- Carry out other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Mechanical, or a related trade preferred.

- Relevant experience in operating bending/press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

- Fresh ITI candidates with relevant practical knowledge may also be considered.

Required Skills

- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

- Knowledge of bending operations, bend allowance, bend deductions, and basic fabrication processes.

- Familiarity with different bending tools and dies.

- Ability to use basic measuring and inspection instruments.

- Basic knowledge of machine settings and parameter adjustments.

- Positive attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.

- Ability to identify common bending defects such as incorrect angle, distortion, cracking, or dimensional variation.

- Basic knowledge of workplace safety and PPE requirements.

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Experience

Preferred: 1-3 years of experience as a Bending Machine / Press Brake Operator in a sheet-metal or fabrication industry.
