We are looking for a Backend & Machine Learning Engineering Intern who wants to work on real projects, write production-oriented code, and gain hands-on experience with backend systems and machine learning.

This role is particularly suited for students who enjoy backend development, problem-solving, data, algorithms, and building things from scratch.

About the Role

As a Backend & Machine Learning Engineering Intern, you will work closely with the technical team to develop and improve backend systems using Node.js and Go (Golang).

The role will also involve working with machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and relationships within data.

You will get exposure to the complete development cycle — from understanding a requirement and designing an API to implementing the solution, testing it, working with databases, and deploying or integrating it into a larger system.

This is a hands-on technical role with a strong focus on learning through actual implementation.

What You Will Do

Backend Engineering

1. Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and Go (Golang)
2. Build and integrate REST APIs
3. Work with databases and design efficient data-access logic
4. Implement authentication, validation, business logic, and API integrations
5. Debug and resolve backend issues
6. Write clean, modular, and maintainable code
7.



Work with Git and follow basic software development practices
8. Test APIs and backend functionality before deployment
9. Understand and contribute to existing backend codebases

Machine Learning & Data
1. Work with datasets to identify meaningful patterns and relationships
2. Implement machine learning algorithms for pattern detection and data analysis
3. Perform data preprocessing and feature engineering
4. Experiment with different ML approaches and evaluate their performance
5. Work on applications involving classification, clustering, anomaly detection, prediction, or other pattern recognition problems
6. Integrate ML models or analytical outputs into backend applications
7. Analyse results and communicate technical findings to the team

Engineering & Development
1. Participate in technical discussions and development planning
2. Research technologies and approaches when required
3. Troubleshoot bugs and improve existing implementations
4. Document technical work and development decisions
5. Continuously improve code quality, performance, and reliability
6. Work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating with the technical team

What We Are Looking For

1. Robust fundamentals in programming and problem solving
2. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Node.js
3. Willingness to learn and work with Go/Golang
4. Understanding of REST APIs and backend development
5. Basic knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
6. Understanding of fundamental Data Structures & Algorithms
7. Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts
8. Familiarity with Python and ML libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn is a plus

Familiarity with Git/GitHub
10. Ability to understand existing code and debug problems
11. Good logical and analytical thinking
12. Strong willingness to learn

Good to Have
1. Previous backend development projects
2. Experience building APIs using Node.js/Express
3. Exposure to Go/Golang
4. Knowledge of Python and machine learning
5. Experience working with real-world datasets
6. Knowledge of Docker or cloud platforms
7. Familiarity with PostgreSQL/MongoDB
8. Personal projects, GitHub repositories, hackathon projects, or open-source contributions
