Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Back End Developer.

The Back End

Developer will design, build, and maintain server-side components that power Path-iQ’s AI-driven pathology platform, focusing on performance, reliability, and security. Daily tasks include implementing APIs and microservices, integrating with front-end and data processing layers, optimizing databases and application logic, and ensuring scalability for clinical workflows. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to architectural decisions,



writing clean and testable code, and supporting deployments and ongoing maintenance in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

- Strong Back-End Web Development and Software Development skills, including experience with modern server-side frameworks and APIs.
- Solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming principles, with a focus on clean, maintainable code.
- Basic understanding of Front-End Development to effectively integrate and collaborate with front-end teams.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, performance optimization, and secure data handling practices.
- Familiarity with building scalable, distributed systems and working with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Robust problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; healthcare or medical imaging experience is a plus.
