Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Testing Engineer to handle automotive product testing and evaluation activities. The candidate will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, planning and executing tests, operating testing equipment, analysing results and preparing accurate technical reports.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct automotive component and product testing as per applicable national and international standards.
- Understand customer requirements, product specifications and test requirements.
- Plan and execute testing activities as per approved test methods and procedures.
- Perform mechanical, dimensional, durability, performance and other relevant automotive tests.
- Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and ensure proper test setup.
- Prepare test specimens and ensure correct sample identification and traceability.
- Record test observations, measurements and raw data accurately.
- Analyse test results and prepare technical test reports.
- Identify deviations, abnormal observations and non-conformities during testing.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Technical teams regarding test procedures and results.
- Ensure testing is performed within the required calibration and measurement conditions.
- Follow laboratory safety, quality and documentation procedures.




- Support equipment calibration, verification and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist in developing/improving test methods and laboratory procedures.
- Interact with customers for technical clarification related to testing requirements whenever required.
- Maintain proper testing records and documentation for audit and traceability purposes.

Required Skills
- Strong understanding of automotive testing and engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of mechanical testing, material/product evaluation and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and test standards.
- Good knowledge of engineering calculations and technical data analysis.
- Familiarity with automotive testing standards such as IS, ISO, ASTM, SAE, AIS or equivalent standards will be preferred.
- Knowledge of testing instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Valuable report-writing and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional laboratory teams.
