Job Description Manager Logistics

Role: Manager Logistics

Function: Supply Chain Management

Sub-Function: Logistics

Location:VIKHROLI- MUMBAI( Corporate Office)

Role Overview

The Manager – Logistics will be responsible for end-to-end warehouse operations, inventory management, Vendor management, dispatch execution, process improvement, cost optimization, and team development. The role will focus on ensuring high operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, timely and accurate dispatches, and driving technology-led transformation across warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations

- Drive same-day billing and dispatch across B2B offline, B2B online and B2C channels.
- Ensure high levels of dispatch accuracy against invoices across all sales channels.
- Monitor warehouse throughput, operational SLAs and identify bottlenecks to improve overall efficiency.
- Ensure smooth coordination between warehouse, sales, distributors, logistics partners and other CFTs.

2. Inventory Management

- Drive inventory accuracy between system and physical stock and reduce inventory shrinkage.
- Implement regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Ensure adoption of RFUI-based inventory audit and bin-scanning processes.
- Monitor inventory ageing and ensure adherence to FIFO and inventory control processes.
- Ensure timely identification and posting of inventory losses during audits.

3. Process Improvement & Warehouse Transformation

- Drive implementation of SAP EWM strategies to improve warehouse throughput and productivity.
- Implement quantity-based picking,



system-driven putaway and other EWM-led process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and automate manual warehouse processes.
- Leverage AI solutions to optimize picking strategies based on order quantity and SKU mix.
- Drive initiatives to improve B2C warehouse processing capacity without proportional increase in manpower.

4. Cost & Productivity Management

- Identify and implement initiatives to reduce warehouse operating costs and manpower dependency.
- Work with 3PL partners to optimize manpower deployment and eliminate unnecessary manual activities.
- Drive reduction of overtime costs through better manpower planning, productivity improvement and process automation.
- Monitor key logistics cost drivers and implement corrective actions.

5. Technology & Digitization

- Drive adoption of WMS, SAP EWM & TMS for dispatch processes, including docket booking picking, put away operations.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology for improving warehouse visibility, productivity and operational control.

6. Team Management & Development

- Lead, coach and develop the warehouse execution team.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and build a team capable of independently managing warehouse operations and inventory.
- Drive performance management, capability building, cross-functional exposure and upskilling within the team.

7. Risk, Compliance & Governance

- Identify and mitigate operational risks across warehouse and logistics processes.




- Ensure adherence to internal policies, compliance requirements, insurance processes and relevant documentation.
- Drive timely closure of operational issues such as DEPS (Damage, Excess, Pilferage and Shortage).

Key Skills & Competencies

- CFT Collaboration – Warehouse Operations: Ability to work effectively with sales, distributors, logistics partners and cross-functional teams to drive smooth execution.
- System Knowledge – Have extensive ERP knowledge and worked with in SAP S4 HANA EWM & MM module.
- Continuous Improvement – Warehouse: Ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements through automation, digitization and operational excellence.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Ability to identify operational risks and ensure compliance with internal policies, insurance and relevant documentation requirements.
- Team Management: Ability to lead, motivate, delegate, coach and develop warehouse teams while building ownership and accountability.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, forecast requirements and drive interventions.
- SCM Project Management: Ability to lead transformation projects, manage milestones, identify risks and deliver measurable business impact.
- Budget & Cost Management: Ability to manage logistics costs, identify cost drivers and implement productivity and cost-saving initiatives.
- Inventory Management & Tracking: Solid understanding of inventory accuracy, ageing, audits, FIFO, stock availability and inventory controls.
