The candidate will be responsible for reviewing ambulance transport documentation, assigning accurate medical codes, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines, and supporting timely claim submissions and reimbursements.
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Ambulance Coding.
- Certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS, CCA, or CPMA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II codes, and ambulance billing guidelines.
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance coding requirements.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Knowledge of claim denials, appeals, and reimbursement processes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and healthcare coding software.
