Job Summary

We are seeking Business Analysts to drive the process design, logic building, and functional testing of our next-generation accounting modules (AP, AR, Compliance). In this role, you will act as a "Data Gatekeeper" between finance and IT, using SQL as your primary tool for deep-dive data validation. You won't just design workflows; you will proactively write queries to stress-test system logic, verify the accuracy of complex financial calculations (taxes, discounts, aging), and ensure that backend data migrations perfectly mirror real-world accounting rules. This is a high-impact role for a top talented professional who wants to move beyond manual entry and lead the technical "architecting" of financial systems where data integrity is guaranteed through rigorous query-based validation

Detailed Requirements & Responsibilities

1. Process Architecture & Module Design

- Workflow Engineering: Design and document end-to-end Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) for new accounting modules, ensuring seamless integration of AP, AR, and Compliance logics.
- Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough Fit-Gap Analysis between legacy accounting processes and proposed digital modules to ensure no loss of financial control or audit trails.
- Logic Mapping: Act as the Finance SME to translate Tax Laws (GST/TDS) and Ind AS principles into technical rules for developers.

2. SQL-Powered Data Validation & Testing

- Query-Based Stress Testing:



Write and execute complex SQL Test Scripts (using JOINs, CTEs, and aggregate functions) to validate data flow from the UI to the backend database.
- UAT Integrity: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions; use SQL to perform referential integrity checks and verify that system outputs (e.g., Trial Balance, Tax Reports) exactly match pre-calculated accounting benchmarks.
- Defect Analytics: Identify and follow up on bugs/logic errors identified during system integration testing, providing clear evidence through data extractions.

3. Financial Module Optimization

- Data Conversion Mastery: Oversee data migration and conversion activities, utilizing SQL to validate that opening balances and historical data transition into recent modules without discrepancies.
- Dashboard Prototyping: Partner with IT to define data schemas for MIS Dashboards, ensuring that the underlying database structure supports real-time financial reporting.
- Month-End Automation: Support the design of automated month-end closing workflows, including automated accruals, inter-company eliminations, and variance alerting systems.

Technical Skills Required

- Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL/SQL Server/MySQL) specifically for data mining and query-based validation.
- Excel/Spreadsheets with Pivot & What-If-Analysis

Candidate Profile

- Educational Background: B.com/B.sc with Distinction
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of Indian Tax Laws and business processes (Order to Cash, Procure To Pay)
- Soft Skills: Critical thinking, negotiation skills for stakeholder alignment, and the ability to explain the requirements to the development team.
