Role & responsibilities

- Infection Surveillance: Track and record daily data on hospital-acquired infections across all clinical departments.
- Protocol Enforcement: Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, sterilization, and isolation procedures during routine rounds.
- Staff Education: Plan and lead training programs for healthcare workers on best practices and safety standards.
- Outbreak Investigation: Respond quickly to infection spikes, identify root causes, and implement containment measures.
- Policy Development: Update and create facility-wide infection control protocols using official guidelines.
- Laboratory Liaison: Work closely with the microbiology lab to review culture and sensitivity reports.
- Environmental Audits: Inspect high-risk patient areas, equipment cleanliness, and waste management practices.
- Data Reporting: Analyze infection trends and present monthly reports to the quality team and committee.
- Occupational Health: Guide staff on post-exposure management, needle-stick injuries, and required vaccinations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all facility operations meet local, national, and international health standards.
