VOJOS is India's first cultural identity eyewear brand premium frames rooted in Indian heritage, supported by world-class optics through our partnership with Vision RX Lab (EssilorLuxottica). We are opening our flagship store in Hitech City, Hyderabad. Our lens partners include Rodenstock (Germany) and Asahi (Japan). We are building a brand where clinical excellence and premium customer experience coexist — and we are looking for an optometrist who believes both matter equally.

About the Role

This is not a high-volume refraction role. At VOJOS, quality of consultation matters more than speed. You will conduct thorough eye examinations, recommend frames that suit the customer's prescription and lifestyle, and be a trusted advisor — not just a clinical technician. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations case history, visual acuity, subjective and objective refraction, binocular vision assessment, slit lamp examination, IOP measurement, and fundus evaluation where indicated
- Accurately determine prescriptions for distance, near, and progressive lenses
- Take precise measurements for dispensing monocular PD, fitting height, frame dimensions for all lens types including progressives
- Recommend appropriate lens types, coatings, and materials based on each customer's clinical needs, occupation, and lifestyle
- Advise customers on the VOJOS frame collection in the context of their prescription — which frames work best for their lens requirements and which designs suit their face shape and style
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow-up schedules
- Liaise with Vision RX Lab for lens orders, quality checks, and delivery timelines
- Identify and refer cases that require specialist medical attention — glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other ocular pathologies




- Conduct paediatric eye examinations with patience and child-appropriate technique
- Support the store team in maintaining clinical standards, frame cleaning, and display hygiene
- Contribute to a consultation environment that feels premium, warm, and unhurried — consistent with the VOJOS brand experience

What We Are Looking For

- Bachelor of Optometry (B.Opt) — mandatory
- Master of Optometry (M.Opt) — preferred but not required
- Valid OCI (Optometry Council of India) registration — mandatory, must be provided at joining
- 1–5 years of clinical experience, ideally in a retail optical or premium clinic setting
- Strong working knowledge of subjective refraction, binocular vision, contact lens fitting, and progressive lens dispensing
- Comfortable with auto-refractors, slit lamp, non-contact tonometer, and ophthalmoscope
- Excellent spoken communication in English and Telugu
- Genuine warmth with patients — you enjoy the consultation as much as the clinical work
- Ability to communicate complex clinical information in simple, friendly language to non-specialists
- Commercial awareness — understanding that clinical excellence and customer satisfaction are not competing values

Good to Have

- Experience with premium progressive lenses — Rodenstock, Essilor, Zeiss, Hoya
- Contact lens fitting and aftercare experience
- Experience in a premium or branded retail optical workplace
- Interest in Indian design, culture, or fashion
