Role Overview

The EMS/NMS/OSS/BSS Architect designs and positions operations and business support system solutions that form the operational backbone of telecom carriers and MSI-managed services. This role requires deep understanding of telecom operational processes (fault, config, accounting, performance, security FCAPS), combined with contemporary cloud-native software delivery, API integration, and the ability to translate operational complexity into compelling solutions for carrier CTO and COO-level buyers.

Key Responsibilities

- Architect EMS/NMS platforms: element and network management for multi-vendor networks (Huawei eSight, Nokia NetAct, Ericsson OSS-RC, ZTE ZXONE NMS)
- Design OSS stacks covering service fulfilment, assurance, and inventory integrating with underlying network elements via NETCONF/YANG, SNMP, RESTCONF, and TL1
- Design BSS components: revenue management, billing mediation, CRM integration, product catalogue, and order management systems (Amdocs, Comverse, Oracle BRM, Ericsson BSCS)
- Architect cloud-native transformation of OSS/BSS microservices, containerised NFs (CNFs), DevOps pipelines, and API-first integration
- Design TMF Open API-aligned integration layers: TMF641, TMF640, TMF688, and other Open API standards
- Develop operations dashboards, network analytics, and AI/ML-driven fault prediction and RCA platforms
- Architect NOC/SOC toolchains: event correlation, ticketing (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy), monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix), and ITSM workflows
- Support MSI customers in designing managed services platforms and white-label OSS/BSS for ISP/carrier clients
- Lead RFP responses for OSS/BSS platform modernisation, cloud migration, and digital transformation projects

Technical Expertise — Hands-On Requirements

- Deep familiarity with at least two commercial NMS/OSS platforms: Huawei eSight / iMaster NCE, Nokia NetAct / NSP, Ericsson OSS-RC, ZTE ZXONE NMS
- OSS/BSS integration protocols: SNMP v2c/v3, NETCONF/YANG,



RESTCONF, CORBA, SOAP/REST APIs, Kafka event streaming
- Cloud platform hands-on: AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda), Azure (AKS, Functions, Cosmos DB), or GCP equivalents
- Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (CKA-level familiarity), Helm, ArgoCD
- Microservices patterns: service mesh (Istio), API gateways, event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Database familiarity: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch — for OSS/BSS backing stores
- Scripting/automation: Python, Bash, Ansible, or Go for OSS integration and automation workflows
- TM Forum knowledge: eTOM process framework, SID data model, TAM application map

Educational Qualifications

- Mandatory: B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Telecommunications
- Equivalent: BCA / MCA / M.Sc. (IT/Networks) — considered with strong industry experience
- Preferred: Postgraduate qualifications (M.Tech / MBA in Technology Management) are a distinct advantage

Pre-Sales & Communication Skills

Candidates must demonstrate strong pre-sales aptitude and communication capability:

- Ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear, compelling business narratives for C-suite and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders — including solution write-ups, BOQs, and commercial inputs
- Skilled in conducting customer workshops, discovery sessions, and proof-of-concept (PoC) demonstrations
- Ability to create high-quality solution presentations, architecture diagrams, and proposals independently
- Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences — from NOC engineers to CTO/CIO level executives
- Strong written English for proposal and documentation; proficiency in MS Office / Visio / draw.io
- Active listening skills to identify unstated customer pain points and shape solutions accordingly
- Experience working alongside sales teams in deal pursuit, customer engagement, and solution shaping
