Role Overview

Astral Adhesives is looking for an experienced Executive – Instrumentation to manage instrumentation and automation activities at the Dahej manufacturing plant. The candidate should have hands-on experience in DCS programming, process optimization, calibration, troubleshooting, and instrumentation maintenance in a chemical/process manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Instrumentation & Maintenance

- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot field instruments and control loops to ensure minimum plant downtime.
- Maintain reliability and availability of instrumentation systems.

DCS & Automation

- Handle DCS programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and modification.
- Work on Emerson DeltaV DCS and support process control requirements.
- Monitor and optimize control loops and process parameters.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for automation-related improvements.

Calibration & Field Instruments

- Carry out calibration and troubleshooting of:
- Pressure Transmitters
- Flow Meters
- Level Transmitters
- Temperature Instruments
- Control Valves
- Other process instrumentation





- Maintain calibration records and ensure instruments remain within required accuracy limits.

Process Optimization

- Identify opportunities for process control improvement and automation optimization.
- Analyze recurring instrumentation issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving plant efficiency, reducing downtime, and enhancing process stability.

Installation & Commissioning

- Support installation, commissioning, loop checking, and functional testing of instrumentation.
- Read and interpret P&IDs;, instrument loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Coordinate with contractors and maintenance teams during shutdowns and project activities.

Safety & Documentation

- Follow plant EHS, PTW, LOTO, and safety procedures during instrumentation activities.
- Maintain maintenance records, calibration reports, instrument history, and technical documentation.
- Support internal and external audits related to instrumentation and automation.

Key Skills & Requirements

- Strong knowledge of Instrumentation & Control Systems
- Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS
- DCS programming and troubleshooting
- Process optimization and control-loop tuning
- Calibration of field instruments
- Control valves and flow/level measurement
- Instrument installation and commissioning
- P&ID;, Loop Diagram & Hook-up Drawing reading
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance
- Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of PLC systems will be an added advantage
