Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Testing and Commissioning (T&C;) Engineer specializing in electrical power systems, substations, switchgear, and protection schemes. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading site testing activities, conducting pre-commissioning and commissioning checks on primary and secondary power equipment, ensuring adherence to safety codes, and handover of assets to clients in compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE) and utility guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Core Competencies

- Site Execution & Planning: Plan, schedule, and execute comprehensive testing and commissioning activities for high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) electrical installations.
- Primary Equipment Testing: Perform routine and advanced factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for primary equipment including Power Transformers, GIS/AIS Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Current/Voltage Transformers (CT/VT), and Isolators.
- Protection & Control Testing: Conduct secondary injection testing, differential/overcurrent protection relay configuration and testing (ABB, Siemens, GE, SEL), metering verification, and interlock checks.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Execute specialized electrical measurements including Insulation Resistance (Megger), Polarization Index (PI), Winding Resistance, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, Contact Resistance, and Earthing/Grounding resistance measurements.
- Wiring & SCADA Verification: Verify control and schematic wiring, perform loop checks, functional checks of SCADA/RTU integration,



DC battery charger and UPS testing.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical system faults, wiring discrepancies, or hardware failures during commissioning phases.
- Documentation & Handover: Prepare explicit, precise T&C; procedures, Method Statements, risk assessments (HSE), inspection checklists, and comprehensive final testing reports for client and utility approvals.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) or equivalent technical degree.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of proven professional experience in testing and commissioning of electrical substations, power plants, or heavy industrial networks.
- Test Equipment Proficiency: Hands-on experience with advanced testing instruments (e.g., Omicron CPC100, CMC 356, Megger, Doble test sets).
- Standards & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, BS, NETA) and local utility regulations.
- Technical Know-How: Solid understanding of electrical protection schemes, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Soft Skills & Safety: Outstanding communication skills, ability to lead on-site sub-contractors, and strict commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- Valid international or local utility approvals / certifications (e.g., DEWA, SEC, Kahramaa, or equivalent).
- Certification in relay configuration and advanced power testing (e.g., Omicron or Doble certified engineer).
- First Aid and high-voltage safety certifications.
