Job PurposeTo design, implement, and optimize assembly line layouts and production processes for Royal Enfields mid-sized motorcycle segments. The Production Engineer bridges the gap between design engineering and shop-floor executionreducing structural process cycle times, eliminating production bottlenecks, and introducing lean manufacturing methodologies. [1, 2, 3] Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Planning & Engineering Line Balancing

- Review engineering drawings and plan assembly routings for complex sub-assemblies (e.g., Engine Assembly or Chassis Integration).
- Conduct capacity planning, time-and-motion studies, and cycle time evaluations to balance production workloads.
- Draft and maintain manufacturing technical documentation,



including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Bill of Materials (BOM), and Work Instructions. [1, 2]

Continuous Improvement & Lean Implementation

- Drive PQDSM (Production, Quality, Delivery, Safety, Morale) metrics across assigned bays (such as Tank Fabrication or Frame Weld shops). [1]
- Lead Kaizen, 5S System adherence, and Lean Production initiatives to cut down on floor-space waste and minimize Work-in-Progress (WIP) stock. [1, 2, 3]
- Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) on repeating engineering defects and mechanical failures to minimize line downtime. [1]

Tooling & Equipment Validation

- Formulate Request for Quotes (RFQs) and interface with suppliers for specialized shop floor fixtures, torque tooling, and poka-yoke (mistake-proofing) devices.
- Assist maintenance teams during commissioning phases of advanced industrial hardware or automated systems. [1, 2]
