Software Engineer II- Legacy Modernization (Warehouse Management Platform)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to lead the modernization of a mission-critical Warehouse Management System from AS/400 to a modern architecture based on React, Go, PostgreSQL, APIs, and microservices.

The platform supports end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting, along with business-critical functions such as Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, Payments, and General Ledger integrations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep experience in enterprise modernization, distributed systems, and AI-accelerated software development using tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the modernization of legacy AS/400 applications to a up-to-date cloud-ready architecture.
- Analyze and translate complex legacy business logic into scalable services and modern user experiences.
- Design and develop solutions using Go, React, PostgreSQL, APIs, and microservices.
- Define architecture, integration patterns, data migration strategies, and engineering standards.
- Drive AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and delivery speed.
- Partner with product, business, and engineering teams to modernize warehouse and finance-related workflows.
- Mentor senior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.




- Ensure solutions meet requirements for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years of software engineering experience with significant enterprise application development expertise.
- Proven experience modernizing legacy platforms such as AS/400, RPG, COBOL, or other monolithic systems.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Go/Golang
- React
- PostgreSQL
- REST APIs
- Microservices
- CI/CD and DevOps practices

- Experience with large-scale data migration and system integration initiatives.
- Strong understanding of warehouse, supply chain, inventory, or order management systems.
- Experience leveraging AI development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
- Excellent architecture, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), logistics, distribution, or supply chain platforms.
- Knowledge of financial processes such as Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, Payments, and General Ledger integrations.
- Familiarity with AS/400 DB2, RPG, batch processing, and legacy modernization patterns.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, containers, observability, and event-driven systems.
