TCI Foundation an autonomous organization works in the development and implementation of national development programs/projects in coordination with the Government, Public Sector Undertakings, National and International development agencies to serve the nation with motto of equality and better life for all citizens in the country.

Job Description:

TCI Foundation invites applications for one (1) position of Opthalmic Assistant purely on contractual basis. The selected candidate on this position would be required to provide optometric services to the truck drivers and allied population plying on national and state highways.

(i) Posting Location:

The position shall be based at following location:

(a) JNPT (Uran, Maharashtra) one position

(ii) Responsibilities:

- Data entry of beneficiaries in application.
- Ensures verification of documents required in the registration.
- Ensures timely supply of spectacles and IEC materials to the beneficiaries.
- Identification and facilitate conduct of camps at identified locations in multiple districts in and around the vision center.
- Ensures compliance of COVID-19 operational guidelines and protocols during camps and static clinics
- Ensures management of spectacles, records, registers etc.
- Ensures timely submission of MIS, reports, and other documents at TCI Foundation Headquarters




- Achieve the targets attached with the vision center.

(iii) Working Hours: 9000 hrs to 1730 hrs

(iv) Required Skills:

- Valuable computer skills.
- Able to navigate between screens.
- Able to accurately enter data.
- Able to type 30 words per minute.

(v) Required Education and Experience:

Bachelors/Diploma in Optometry or Degree/Diploma/Certificate Course in Ophthalmic Assistant. Fluent in data entry in application

(vi) Nature of appointment: The appointment will be on contract basis initially for a period of one year and thereafter extendable for specified period based on performance appraisal to be assessed for work output, personal attributes, functional competency etc and continuation of project by the Grantor.

(vii) Reporting: Immediate Reporting will be to Sr. Vice President, TCIL or any person authorised by him and shall keep them fully informed of all steps and actions taken by the Consultant in the performance of its obligations.

(viii) Deliverables: The Opthalmic Assistant will be required to submit a monthly activity report and annual report to Sr. Vice President, TCIL. Performance appraisal would include review of monthly activity reports, camps conducted, timely completion of activities & innovations done and annual assessment.
