About the Role
Sambodhi Retreat, Bodhgaya is looking for an experienced HR Manager to independently manage and oversee the complete HR function at the retreat office.
The person will be responsible for manpower planning, recruitment, employee relations, attendance, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, performance management, training, employee engagement and HR administration.
The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on experience in hotel/resort/hospitality HR, with the ability to manage both managerial and frontline employees in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for all departments.
- Coordinate with department heads for manpower requirements.
- Prepare manpower plans and maintain recruitment pipelines.
- Source candidates through job portals, references, consultants and local networks.
- Conduct preliminary screening, interviews and coordinate final selections.
- Manage joining formalities and onboarding.
2. Employee Relations & HR Operations
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace concerns.
- Maintain employee discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Maintain employee files, HR records and documentation.
- Handle transfers, promotions, confirmations, resignations and full & final processes.
- Act as the HR point of contact for employees and department heads.
3. Attendance, Leave & Payroll Coordination
- Monitor daily attendance, shifts, leaves, overtime and absenteeism.
- Verify monthly payroll inputs.
- Coordinate with accounts/payroll team for salary processing.
- Maintain accurate employee and attendance records.
- Monitor manpower deployment across departments.
4. Statutory Compliance
- Support and monitor PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Maintain statutory registers and employee documentation.
- Coordinate with external consultants/agencies wherever required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and company policies.
5. Performance Management
- Coordinate employee performance reviews and appraisals.
- Support department heads in setting performance expectations.
- Monitor probation and confirmation processes.
- Identify performance and disciplinary concerns.
6. Training & Development
- Identify training requirements across departments.
- Coordinate induction and orientation programs.
- Support hospitality/service-quality training.
- Maintain training records.
7. Employee Engagement
- Organize employee engagement activities.
- Support employee welfare initiatives.
- Improve employee communication and workplace culture.
- Address employee concerns proactively.
8. HR MIS & Reporting
- Prepare monthly HR MIS.
- Track headcount, attrition, absenteeism, recruitment status and manpower costs.
- Submit HR reports to management.
- Maintain accurate HR dashboards and records.
9. Hospitality HR Administration
- Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B;, Engineering, Security, Finance and other departments.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability during peak occupancy/events.
- Manage HR requirements associated with shifts, weekly offs, overtime and seasonal manpower.
