Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Technologist / Echocardiography Technologist to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team in the Caribbean.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms (cardiac ultrasound), ECG/EKG, and other non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures . The role requires strong technical competency, attention to detail, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) , including 2D, M-mode, colour Doppler, pulsed-wave and continuous-wave Doppler studies.
- Obtain accurate cardiac measurements, images, and hemodynamic data according to established echocardiography protocols.
- Perform 12-lead ECG/EKG testing and recognize technically inadequate recordings or potentially significant abnormalities requiring prompt physician review.
- Assist with or perform stress echocardiography, exercise ECG testing, ambulatory/Holter monitoring, and other non-invasive cardiac investigations , according to training and clinical privileges.
- Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and other specialized cardiac procedures where appropriately trained and authorized.
- Assess image quality and obtain additional views or measurements when required to ensure complete diagnostic studies.
- Prepare patients for cardiac diagnostic procedures, explain procedures clearly, and address patient questions or concerns.
- Recognize urgent or potentially critical findings and promptly escalate them to the appropriate physician in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Maintain, clean,



and perform routine checks of echocardiography, ECG/EKG, and related cardiac diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records, measurements, images, preliminary technical documentation, and procedure information.
- Follow infection prevention, patient identification, privacy, safety, and quality-assurance standards.
- Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team .
- Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and maintenance of professional competency.

Qualifications

- Recognized diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional qualification in Cardiac Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Cardiac Sonography , or a related discipline.
- Relevant recognized certification/registration in echocardiography, cardiac sonography, or cardiovascular technology , where applicable.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant clinical experience , with substantial hands-on experience in echocardiography/cardiac ultrasound.
- Demonstrated proficiency in echocardiography and ECG/EKG acquisition .
- Experience with Doppler echocardiography and cardiac measurements is required.
- Experience with stress testing, Holter monitoring, TEE assistance, or other non-invasive cardiac investigations is preferred.
- Current professional registration/licensure in the country of practice, where applicable, and ability to meet registration or credentialing requirements of the relevant Caribbean jurisdiction.




- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain it prior to commencing employment.
- Good proficiency in spoken and written English .

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced and confident cardiac technologist with strong hands-on echocardiography skills who can consistently produce high-quality diagnostic studies. The candidate should combine technical competence with excellent communication and patient-care skills and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary cardiac care team.
