The ideal candidate will lead, coach, and guide a motivated, high-performing engineering team with transparent objectives, accountability, and a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and execution excellence. Plan resources, assign priorities, remove delivery barriers, and enable the team to meet quality, schedule, productivity, and cost commitments across design, engineering, testing, and site support, with a focus on compliance with industry standards and grid codes.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Project Design and Engineering:
- Participate in project design and detailed engineering.
- Understand and create Single Line Diagrams for Electrical Networks and Switchgear components.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Heat Load/Current Load Calculations, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and Input/Output (IO) assignments.

2. Power Plant Controller and Power Management Systems:
- Lead the architecture, design, integration, testing, and commissioning of PPC and PMS solutions for PV solar, wind, BESS, utility, and industrial applications, including Front-of-the-Meter projects and compliance with the Indian Grid Code.
- Develop and validate control functions for voltage and frequency regulation, active and reactive power control, LVRT, HVRT, black start, load sharing, peak shaving, demand management, generation scheduling, grid synchronization, load shedding, and energy optimization.
- Integrate PPC and PMS with SCADA, Energy Management Systems, protection relays, meters, generators, renewable sources, and third-party equipment while ensuring interoperability, cybersecurity, safety, and regulatory compliance.

3. Sustainability Projects:
- Lead sustainability and decarbonization projects, including renewable energy integration, energy-efficiency improvement, electrification, microgrids, and emissions-reduction initiatives.
- Conduct technical and commercial assessments, establish energy and carbon baselines, define measurable sustainability targets, and track project performance and benefits realization.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, consultants, and cross-functional teams to develop scalable, cost-effective sustainability solutions aligned with business objectives and applicable environmental requirements.

4. Testing, Compliance, Simulation, and Modeling:
- Develop test procedures, conduct demonstrations aligned with grid-code requirements, and perform PSCAD and PSSE model simulations for renewable energy projects.

5. SCADA and PLC/RTU Engineering:
- Prepare and configure SCADA databases and execute PLC/RTU programming using Function Block and Structured Text languages.

6. Electrical Systems, Communications, and Integration:
- Design HV/MV/LV electrical networks to applicable engineering standards and integrate protection relays, IEDs, switchgear, SCADA, and third-party devices.
- Apply IEC 61850, IEC 60870-101/104, ICCP, OPC, DNP3, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, and other relevant communication protocols.

7. Project Delivery and Customer Coordination:
- Participate in Pre-FAT, FAT, and Integrated FAT (I-FAT)



with EPCs and end users; coordinate project updates, work assignments, and customer requirements.
- Travel to global sites as required to support project execution.

8. Site Installation Supervision:
- Supervise installation and commissioning of BESS projects, including Containers, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), HVAC, and power cabling.
- Oversee BESS Container and Module installation, jumper connections, and battery module installations.
- Interface with 3rd party vendors to ensure effective collaboration.
- Supervise installations of high-voltage DC panels & systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Prepare As-Built drawings and documentation, including cable schedules as per site modifications.
- Monitor contractor progress and manage site operations.

9. Solution Consultancy and Market Alignment:
- Lead solution consultancy engagements to understand customer needs and translate business and technical requirements into competitive, scalable, and compliant BESS and PPC solutions.
- Identify market trends, customer feedback, and application gaps; collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to drive product enhancements that strengthen product-market fit.

10. Productivity and Cost Optimization:
- Drive engineering productivity through standardization, reuse, automation, and continuous improvement of design and delivery processes.
- Develop technically robust, cost-optimized solutions by evaluating architecture alternatives, lifecycle costs, risks, and value-engineering opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or compliance.

11. Sales and Customer Support:
- Partner with Sales to support opportunity qualification, solution positioning, technical proposals, bid responses, and customer presentations.
- Deliver clear and persuasive technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and workshops that communicate business value and address customer requirements.

12. Training, Certification, and Capability Development:
- Develop a role-based training and certification plan through an EMS Engineering consultant, covering required competencies, proficiency levels, assessment criteria, and certification pathways.
- Establish Share & Learn sessions led by Offering Management (OM) on the offering portfolio, customer needs, competitive landscape, and market benchmarking.
- Organize cross-functional Share & Learn sessions led by Technical Support Centre (TSC) and Operations on project execution, lessons learned, commissioning experience, and field best practices.
- Implement Grid Compliance and PSCAD training and certification pathways for TSC, R&D;, and Engineering teams, with practical case studies and project-based assessments.
- Build a curated learning plan using internal subject-matter experts,



supplemented by specialist providers such as Power Projects India and LTTS.
- Explore partnerships with engineering consultants, universities/research institutions, and Power Projects India to co-develop customized curricula, hands-on labs, mentoring, and certification programs.
- Define an annual training calendar, participant cohorts, completion targets, skill assessments, and effectiveness measures to track capability improvement and application on live projects.

13. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Enable effective collaboration across Offering Management, Solution Consultants, R&D;, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Services, and Legal to align customer requirements, solution architecture, product capabilities, sourcing and delivery constraints, serviceability, contractual obligations, risk, and compliance throughout the opportunity and project lifecycle.
- Establish clear ownership, decision forums, communication cadence, and timely escalation mechanisms to accelerate decisions, manage interdependencies, reduce rework, and ensure coordinated execution from bid and design through commissioning and lifecycle support.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. Electrical/B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering).
- 12+ years of relevant technical experience in the delivery of electrical projects, including electrical systems and panel boards.
- Prior experience in data center electrical design or energy storage integration is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Customer-focused with a team-oriented mindset and adaptability to changing environments.
- Self-motivated and capable of functioning with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a diverse and global workplace.

Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of BESS project design and delivery, including resolution of site technical issues.
- Experience in reviewing customer and engineering design requirements and creating project scope documents, technical reports, and proposals.
- Proven track record in delivering renewable energy systems, particularly BESS and photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Experience in the design and deployment of Power Management Systems, Energy Management Systems, microgrids, or hybrid power systems.
- Demonstrated experience delivering sustainability, energy-efficiency, decarbonization, or renewable-integration projects with measurable business and environmental outcomes.
- Knowledgeable about inverters and DC converters within BESS projects, including inverter controls and operational standards.
- Proficient in analyzing single-line drawings, system studies, and protective relay settings applicable to renewable projects.
- Familiarity with industry standards and grid codes relevant to electrical power systems.
- Experience with power engineering modeling software such as ETAP or SKM.
- Proficient in modeling using Excel, Homer, and/or Matlab and interpreting simulation results.
