Engineer - Robot Fabrication

Role Summary

Lead and supervise robotic fabrication operations, maximizing robot utilization, productivity and welding quality while effectively managing Man, Machine and Material.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day robotic welding/fabrication operations and achieve production targets.
- Manage robot operators, welders, fitters and technicians.
- Monitor and optimize robot programs, welding parameters, cycle time and robot utilization.
- Ensure fabrication conforms to drawings, WPS, quality standards and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, PPC, Maintenance and Tool Room.
- Troubleshoot robot, welding, fixture and process-related issues.
- Improve OEE, arc-on time, cycle time, first-pass yield and robot availability.
- Reduce welding defects, rework, rejection and consumable wastage.
- Support development and improvement of robotic welding fixtures and processes.
- Drive 5S, Kaizen, Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.




- Ensure compliance with robot-cell safety and shop-floor safety requirements.

Desired Skills

- Hands-on experience in robotic welding/fabrication.
- Experience with Yaskawa / KUKA / ABB / FANUC / Motoman or equivalent.
- Robot teaching/program creation
- Ability to design/improve welding fixtures and jigs
- Ability to identify parts suitable for robotic welding
- Knowledge of weld accessibility and sequence planning
- Good knowledge of MIG/MAG/FCAW welding processes.
- Knowledge of welding parameters, WPS/PQR and defect troubleshooting.
- Understanding of fixtures, tooling and robot-cell operations.
- Strong manpower and shop-floor leadership skills.
- Experience in heavy engineering / mining / construction equipment / crusher / screening / conveyor manufacturing preferred.

Qualification: B.E./B. Tech/Diploma Mechanical / Production / Mechatronics / Automation
