Position SummaryPredactica is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to guide an India-based engineering team delivering AI, data, analytics, and automation solutions for a global life-sciences R&D; organization.

This role combines technical leadership with team and delivery ownership. You will remain actively involved in solution architecture, design reviews, code reviews, technical problem-solving, and demonstration preparation while ensuring the team makes realistic commitments and delivers them.

This is not a project-manager, Scrum Master, or PMO position. Candidates must have recent hands-on experience delivering production AI or data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead an engineering team working across AI, GenAI, data engineering, analytics, and automation.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, tasks, estimates, and acceptance criteria.
- Review architecture, code, data flows, model behavior, testing approaches, and production readiness.
- Contribute to prototyping, troubleshooting, and implementation when required.
- Allocate work, mentor engineers, challenge estimates, and manage technical dependencies.
- Own delivery commitments, risks, quality, and timely completion of deliverables.
- Prepare and present solution demonstrations to business and R&D; stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, technical trade-offs, blockers, and decisions clearly to US-based client stakeholders.
- Apply appropriate security, validation, auditability, and human oversight for regulated solutions.

Required Qualifications




- 9–15 years of experience delivering enterprise AI, data, analytics, or software solutions.
- Recent hands-on experience with Python, SQL, APIs, cloud data platforms, or AI/ML engineering.
- Production experience with one or more of the following: machine learning, generative AI, RAG, agentic AI, data engineering, advanced analytics, or intelligent automation.
- Experience leading a technical team of approximately 5–12 engineers.
- Ability to review technical designs and code and challenge engineering estimates.
- Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clinical research, medical affairs, life-sciences R&D;, or regulated healthcare data.
- Experience preparing and presenting technical demonstrations to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability for regular collaboration with US-based stakeholders.

Preferred Experience
- Pharmaceutical R&D;, clinical, regulatory, pharmacovigilance, laboratory, or scientific-data solutions.
- AI evaluation, guardrails, model monitoring, auditability, or human-in-the-loop controls.
- Power BI, data pipelines, cloud architecture, CI/CD, and production deployment.
