Role Description The Senior Sales Engineer is a full-time, in office role based in Kolkata. This position is responsible for driving sales of automation solutions, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, and servo/axis control systems, through consultative engagement with industrial clients. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying leads, preparing technical proposals, conducting product demonstrations, and presenting solution-based offerings that align with customer requirements.

The role involves close collaboration with engineering and service teams to ensure accurate solution design, timely project handover, and effective post-sales support.

Engineer will maintain strong customer relationships, manage key accounts, provide technical guidance, and contribute to sales forecasting and market development activities.

Qualifications

- Strong Sales Engineering and Technical Support skills, with experience in industrial automation or related domains.
- Demonstrated Sales and Customer Service capabilities, including lead generation, opportunity management, and account retention.
- Excellent Communication skills for presenting technical concepts, negotiating with stakeholders, and collaborating with internal teams.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, and servo/axis control systems, preferably with Siemens, Rockwell, or Delta platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in a senior sales or sales engineering role, preferably in industrial or process automation.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage time effectively, and travel to customer sites as required.
- Proficiency in preparing technical proposals, cost estimates, and solution presentations; familiarity with CRM tools is an advantage.
