About the Role

As Senior Associate, Talent Acquisition Researcher, you will own high-quality talent research and intelligence for priority hiring across Alvarez & Marsal globally. You will partner with recruiters, hiring managers, senior stakeholders and fellow Researchers to translate search objectives into focused market maps, target company lists, executive pipelines and actionable sourcing insights. The role is centered on the core talent research process, with particular emphasis on talent intelligence and mapping professionals from SHREK organisations, including recruitment firms and executive search firms.

Key Responsibilities

- Own target company lists, talent maps and executive pipelines for priority searches, focusing on SHREK organisations and converting fragmented market information into qualified, actionable talent pools.
- Participate in search kick-offs with recruiters and hiring managers, clarifying target profiles, relevant organisations, sourcing channels and research plans that improve search focus from the outset.
- Conduct structured executive research across social networks, search engines, company websites, conferences, publications, referrals and biographies to identify niche and hard-to-find professionals.
- Apply Claude, Copilot and other AI tools to accelerate candidate research, market mapping and sourcing insight while preserving accuracy, discretion and sound judgement.

- Build dashboards and reports covering talent availability, candidate movement, company activity and market trends so stakeholders can make better-informed search decisions.
- Maintain intelligence on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, competitor activity and wider talent trends, translating developments into relevant implications for active searches.
- Partner with recruiters and Researchers to maintain accurate, consistent candidate information across recruiting systems and research tools, protecting data quality throughout delivery.

Essential Skills & Technologies

- Demonstrated expertise in core talent research, talent intelligence, executive search research and end-to-end market mapping, particularly across recruitment firms and executive search firms.
- Strong research, information synthesis and data organisation skills, with the ability to turn competitive landscape and candidate intelligence into concise sourcing recommendations.
- Hands-on proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter, X-Ray search, Lusha, ContactOut, company websites, industry publications, conference research and broader web searches.
- Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude and Copilot to improve research targeting, repeatability and cycle time without compromising judgement or confidentiality.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, enabling effective partnership with recruiters, hiring managers, Researchers and senior stakeholders across geographies.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting and presentation; Power BI or comparable visualisation experience is advantageous.

Additional Plus

- Experience supporting executive searches in professional services, consulting, finance, tax or private equity environments, with awareness of relevant talent pools and market dynamics.
- Experience tracking mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, competitor activity or other market signals that influence executive talent availability.
- Exposure to Power BI or other data visualisation tools for presenting talent market trends, company intelligence and candidate movement clearly.

What You'll Bring

- A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or a related discipline, combined with 5–8 years of relevant talent research experience; total experience may range from 6–10 years.
- Deep ownership of the core talent research process, including talent intelligence, target organisation mapping, executive pipeline development and research-led sourcing strategy.

- Proven ability to find niche profiles through disciplined investigation, connect disparate information sources and deliver reliable insights under demanding timelines.
- High attention to detail, discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential searches and candidate information, supported by strong prioritisation and deadline management.
- A collaborative, proactive working style that builds trust with recruiters, hiring managers, senior stakeholders and research colleagues across international teams.
- Curiosity about organisations, industries and professional networks, with the resilience to pursue difficult searches until the market picture is sufficiently complete.
