Position: Security Officer (Defence Background Preferred)

Location: Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Karnataka

Role Summary The Security Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and protection of students, faculty, staff, visitors, campus assets, and infrastructure across the university. The incumbent will oversee campus security operations, emergency response, surveillance systems, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage overall campus security operations across academic blocks, hostels, residences, and other university facilities.
- Supervise security personnel, agency guards, patrol teams, and access control systems.
- Develop and implement security protocols, SOPs, emergency response plans, and incident management procedures.
- Monitor CCTV surveillance, visitor management systems, and physical security measures.
- Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and investigations of security incidents.
- Coordinate with local police, fire department, government authorities, and emergency services.
- Ensure effective crowd management during university events, examinations, convocations,



and VIP visits.
- Train security staff on emergency preparedness, safety practices, and campus security standards.
- Prepare periodic security reports and recommend continuous improvements.

Qualification & Experience

- Graduate degree from a recognized university. Additional certification in Security Management will be an advantage.
- Preferably retired Armed Forces personnel (Officer/JCO level) or candidates with Defence, Paramilitary, Police, or reputed institutional security experience.
- Minimum 8-15 years of relevant security management experience.
- Experience in educational institutions, universities, or large campuses is desirable.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Defence background preferred.
- Candidates from Karnataka with knowledge of Kannada will be given preference.
- Solid leadership, discipline, crisis management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with modern security technologies, surveillance systems, and access control mechanisms.

Preferred Location: Bengaluru/Karnataka candidates with local administrative and law enforcement network familiarity.
