The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced legal skilled to guide students and families in developing impactful legal research, public-interest initiatives and projects that address real-world problems and drive meaningful institutional change.
Key Responsibilities
- RTI Filing & Investigation: Draft, file and pursue RTI applications, appeals and related investigations, including analysis of responses and evidence.
- PIL Filing & Litigation: Assess, draft and file Public Interest Litigations (PILs) and other appropriate legal proceedings in matters with genuine public-interest merit.
- Court Representation: Appear before relevant courts, conduct proceedings, prepare submissions and manage cases through their various stages, subject to applicable court requirements.
- Legal Research & Strategy: Identify significant legal issues,
build evidence-backed arguments and develop appropriate litigation and institutional strategies.
- Public Interest & Policy Impact: Engage with government authorities, regulatory bodies and public institutions to pursue legal remedies, accountability and systemic reform.
- Student & Family Engagement: Work closely with UniVisory students and families to develop meaningful legal initiatives while ensuring professional ethics, legal compliance and genuine student contribution.
Who We're Looking For An experienced lawyer with expertise in public-interest litigation, constitutional law, RTI and legal research.
Experience with High Court or Supreme Court matters, institutional advocacy and mentoring young researchers would be particularly valuable.
