Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute API test cases for functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
Perform manual and automated API testing using industry-standard tools.
Validate request/response payloads, business rules, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
Develop and maintain API automation frameworks.
Conduct database validation and data integrity testing.
Analyze API logs, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with development teams for resolution.
Integrate API test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
Ensure API quality, reliability, scalability, and security.
Participate in requirement analysis, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
Create and maintain test plans, test scripts, and testing documentation.

Required Skills
3 to 8 years of experience in Software Testing with a focus on API Testing.
Strong experience in testing REST APIs and SOAP Web Services.
Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, Insomnia,



or similar API testing tools.
Experience in API automation using Rest Assured (Java), Karate Framework, or Python-based frameworks.
Robust understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, status codes, request methods, and API design principles.
Experience with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and Basic Authentication.
Valuable knowledge of JSON, XML, and schema validation.
Proficiency in SQL and database testing.
Experience with defect management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD processes.
Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills
Experience with Microservices Architecture.
Knowledge of API performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Basic understanding of security testing concepts like OWASP API Security.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum settings.
