Finz is a New York-based fintech rethinking how businesses run finance with AI. We’re creating a future where finance keeps pace with the business, so teams spend less time processing the past and more time shaping what happens next.

We’re expanding our engineering team in Koramangala, Bangalore and looking for a Founding Engineer working at the edge of AI-native software development.

What You’ll Do:
Design and ship production systems across product, data, infrastructure, and AI
Build agentic systems that reason over financial data, use tools, execute workflows, and operate with human oversight
Design context, memory, state, permissions, and orchestration for long-running agents
Build the integrations and data pipelines that connect AI systems to business data and tools
Develop evals, guardrails, and observability for AI operating in production
Use coding agents extensively across development, testing, debugging, and refactoring
Determine where software should be deterministic, model-driven, or require human judgment
Shape the architecture and technical direction of Finz as it scales

What We’re Looking For:




5+ years of software engineering experience with solid backend and system design fundamentals
Experience building and operating production systems end to end
Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, tool calling, structured outputs, and retrieval
Experience building AI systems beyond chat interfaces and prompt wrappers
Solid understanding of APIs, databases, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and security
Experience evaluating and improving the reliability of AI systems in production
Extensive use of coding agents or AI-native development environments
Strong debugging skills across software, data, and AI systems

Technical Experience: Experience across a contemporary stack including:
TypeScript / JavaScript, React, Next.js, Node.js
Python, FastAPI
PostgreSQL, SQL, vector and hybrid retrieval
APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and third-party integrations
AWS, Azure, or GCP, Docker, and CI/CD
Queues, background jobs, event-driven systems, and workflow orchestration
LLM APIs, agents, tool calling, RAG, memory, and evals

Experience with fintech or financial data is useful, but not required.
