IT & Digital Operations Intern — Office of the CTO

We are looking for a proactive IT & Digital Operations Intern to work under our CTO and help establish, organise, and maintain the firm’s internal technology environment.
About the Role
This internship offers practical experience in making technology work effectively across an organisation—from preparing employee devices and organising digital workspaces to supporting software, documenting systems, and helping staff use tools confidently.
You will assist the CTO in completing pending technology setups, standardising internal systems, and keeping the firm’s everyday digital operations reliable and organised. The position focuses on internal organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Devices & Office Technology
- Assist with setting up computers, laptops, printers, scanners, meeting equipment, and other office technology.
- Support device allocation, handover, return, maintenance tracking, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain an updated inventory of devices, accessories, software licences, warranties, and assigned users.
- Help assess technology requirements and prepare purchase comparisons for the CTO’s review.
2. Software & Digital Workspace Setup
- Assist with configuring and organising Microsoft 365, shared storage, email, collaboration tools, and other approved applications.
- Support the setup and maintenance of ClickUp workflows, dashboards, templates, and user accounts under the CTO’s direction.
- Provide technical support for systems such as Zoho Books, coordinating with the relevant department.
- Track incomplete configurations and help bring approved setups into regular use.
3. Data Organisation & Backup Support
- Help organise shared folders, file naming practices, document access, and digital records.
- Maintain documentation of storage locations, backup schedules, and system ownership.
- Assist with monitoring approved backups and documenting recovery checks under supervision.
- Identify duplicate, misplaced, or inaccessible records and coordinate corrections with the responsible team.
4. Access & Security Administration
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding checklists for devices, email, software, and system access.
- Support approved access permissions, multifactor authentication, software updates, and secure credential-management practices.
- Maintain records of authorised administrators and access responsibilities for official digital accounts.
- Escalate suspicious activity, access issues, and security concerns promptly to the CTO.
5. Staff Support & Digital Training
- Record internal IT requests, provide basic support, and track issues through resolution.
- Help staff use Microsoft Office, shared storage, ClickUp, and other approved tools effectively.
- Prepare simple user guides, setup instructions, and troubleshooting checklists.
- Assist the CTO with staff training and follow up on recurring difficulties.
6. System Documentation & Implementation Follow-up
- Maintain a central tracker of technology requirements, pending setups, support issues, and improvement projects.
- Coordinate with employees, vendors, and service providers as instructed.
- Document configurations, operating procedures, renewal dates, and maintenance schedules.
- Check completed setups against approved requirements and obtain confirmation from the relevant users.
- Prepare concise progress reports highlighting completed work, unresolved issues, and decisions required from the CTO.
Purchases, access changes, data deletion,
and major system changes will require approval from the CTO or authorised management.
Who We Are Looking For
- Students or recent graduates in BCA, B.Sc. Computer Science/IT, B.Tech./B.E. Computer Science or IT, MCA, or a related discipline.
- Candidates from other academic backgrounds with demonstrable practical IT skills are also welcome.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and common office applications.
- Interest in IT operations, digital workplace management, technical support, and process improvement.
- Good troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and willingness to document work accurately.
- Ability to explain technical steps clearly and patiently.
- A responsible approach to confidential information and system access.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, ClickUp, cloud storage, or business software is an advantage. Freshers with practical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
