Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Welding Inspector to support pipe fabrication activities and ensure that welding, fabrication, coating, testing, and documentation meet applicable international codes, client specifications, approved procedures, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct visual, dimensional, material, cleanliness, coating, bend and hydrostatic inspections.
- Inspect prefabricated piping spools against IFC isometrics, approved procedures and ITPs.
- Monitor fit-up, welding and final weld inspection.
- Verify welding equipment calibration, consumable control and welder qualifications.
- Review joint entries, heat numbers, consumable details, test packs, PWHT charts and RFI packages.
- Conduct/witness hydrostatic testing and maintain associated quality documentation.
- Perform coating and painting inspections, including surface preparation, profile, WFT and DFT measurements.
- Identify and report non-conformities (NCRs) and support corrective actions.
- Maintain inspection records, logs and documentation with proper traceability.
- Coordinate inspection activities with clients, third-party inspectors, production and project teams.
- Guide and coach junior QC inspectors and trainees.
- Ensure Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE;)



is properly maintained, logged and calibrated.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Degree/Diploma with relevant QA/QC or welding inspection qualifications.
- Certifications such as CSWIP, AWS, BGAS, NACE or equivalent QC certifications are preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in welding/fabrication inspection is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of applicable codes, standards, drawings, isometrics and technical documents.
- Hands-on experience with inspection and measuring equipment such as:
- Calipers and micrometers
- DFT/WFT gauges
- Testex micrometers
- Dial thickness gauges
- Temperature measuring devices
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Access.
- Strong documentation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a pipe fabrication/industrial environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in piping fabrication, welding inspection, coating inspection and quality documentation, with the ability to independently interpret drawings, inspection requirements and quality records while coordinating effectively with production, clients and third-party inspectors.
